Australian consumer advocate CHOICE warns about court side-stepping copyright scheme using ACMA

[1] CHOICE has issued a warning of an impending new battle front with the copyright and Internet industries in Australia intending to side-step the court process to get to consumers through the ACMA.

[2] The advocate insists that the best way to protect consumers and ensure that rights holders don’t run riot is through proper court processes.

[3] CHOICE is opposed to the “three strikes” graduated response scheme in the draft Copyright Notice Scheme Code published in February 2015 by the Communications Alliance.
