Spies warn: we’re under cyber-attack as hacking costs $1bn

[1] Federal security agencies are concerned that online security threats in Australia have more than tripled in three years and are estimated to cost more than $1 billion in malicious damage.

[2] They have forwarded a report to Tony Abbot that is urging government and business leaders to do more to prepare for growing attacks from criminals, foreign governments and terrorists.

[3] The arguments are based on a 20 per cent increase in the number of cyber-security threats to 1131 incidents last year.
