Australian-first driverless car trial seeks to modernise road rules

[1] The Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) is set to conduct the first trials for the autonomous vehicles on a closed-off Adelaide expressway this year through a partnership with Volvo.

[2] The new XC90 vehicles, that are equipped with autopilot system, will be sent down the city’s southern expressway under controlled environment.

[3] Other features include automatic system for braking, steering and parking via sensor-linked software – as well as a fail safe mode that can pull the car over if something goes wrong.
