[1] According to the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), a new controversial military technology export control law that threatens to criminalise cryptography research could delink Australia from the global research community.
[2] The Australia’s new Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) will come into effect next April, prompting more than 180 cryptologists and members of the IACR to sign a petition against it.
[3] The DTCA, which covers technologies used for both military and civilian purposes, will mean that IACR’s work will be illegal.
