[1] The NSW parliament’s law and justice committee has commenced a fresh inquiry into the legal measures that would let Australians sue over serious breaches of their privacy.
[2] The current privacy laws only protect the data of Australians as held by large businesses and other organisations at both the state and federal levels.
[3] For this reasons, the committee will seek to have new specific legal remedies that can be applied against other individuals when it comes to invasions of personal privacy.
