[1] Telstra has today officially started its ReadyCare telemedicine service, allowing customers to consult with a general practitioner remotely using video or voice.
[2] The ReadyCare service is a joint venture between Telstra and Swiss online health service provider Medgate, aiming to provide customers medical advice, treatment, diagnosis and prescriptions from registered Australian doctors.
[3] The service is intended to complement rather than replace conventional health services, and is mainly targeted at remote or rural residents with limited or difficulty accessing essential health services.
