[1] A fleet of floating bio-robots are set to deep dive the Indian Ocean between Christmas Island and Madagascar next week to help explore the ocean’s physical and biological environment.
[2] The BioArgos are being deployed by CSIRO and are equipped with tiny sensors that can measure biological indicators within the ocean including dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, nitrate, organic matter and particles.
[3] This is the first time CSIRO has is using the new BioArgo robotic floats, as they look to understand the biological phenomenon of deep ocean planktons.
