Tech boon to cut 5m jobs: report

[1] A report commissioned by the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia show that more than five million of Australia’s jobs could disappear within the next 15 years from technology revolution.

[2] The report suggests that almost 40 per cent of workers will be forced to find a new job or learn skills to stay employable in the near future.

[3] Rural and regional areas could be hit harder as technology makes labour-intensive work redundant with places like WA’s Pilbara and eastern desert regions experiencing higher  job loss rate.
