Thousands of iiNet passwords hacked – maybe

[1] iiNet, a Perth based ISP and currently the subject of a takeover bid, may have had the passwords of its Westnet subsidiary stolen and offered for sale.

[2] Westnet has neither denied nor confirmed that its customer database, containing more than 30,000 passwords and other details, has been hacked and stolen

[3] The hack was first reported on twitterfeed Cyber War News (@Cyber_War_News), and iiNet has not publicly confirmed the breach, but issued a statement saying that there “may” have been such an attempt.
