E-book pirate party ends in UK as Australia mulls own site-blocking legislation

[1] A decision by the British High Court requiring internet service providers (ISPs) to block access to websites hosting pirated e-book titles has been welcomed by Australia’s Copyright Agency.

[2] This comes as a Senate Committee is set to submit its final on site-blocking legislation report next week that would allow copyright holders to enforce blocking of copyright infringing websites.

[3] The decision in Britain means that the five major ISPs will have 10 working days to block seven offshore-hosted websites.
