Using public Wi-Fi puts Aussie mobile users at risk of privacy loss: Avast

[1] According to security vendor, Avast Software, getting on a public Wi-Fi network poses security threats that many Australian mobile users haven’t thought of.

[2] A recent study by the company, conducted on over 2600 Australians, found that 82 per cent of Australians prefer to join unprotected Wi-Fi networks over secure networks that require a password.

[3] This study also found that 61 per cent of respondents never or only sometimes turn off their Wi-Fi transmitters, leaving a wide security gap.
