[1] The Internet Society is pushing the federal government to postpone for at least a year its proposed Copyright Legislation which require ISPs to block access to pirate websites.
[2] The agency CEO Laurie Patton does not believe that there is sufficient international proof that piracy can be eliminated via government regulation.
[3] The society supports the need for content to be made available speedily, on multiple devices and at reasonable cost, but says that site blocking will be counterproductive in the long run.
