[1] Communications Alliance Chief John Stanton has warned that smaller telecommunication companies will struggle to comply with the controversial metadata laws.
[2] He told a Melbourne metadata forum that the Communications Alliance was engaging with the government to define and make clear the data sets they will be forced to keep.
[3] The controversial data retention legislation was passed earlier this year and requires telcos and ISPs to hold certain data such as call logs and network logs for a minimum of two years.
