CSIRO, AARNet part of ‘breakthrough’ global open SDN project

[1] A new partnership between CSIRO and Australian not-for-profit research network AARNet has successfully deployed of an Open Networking Operating System-based software-defined peering router.

[2] In the Partnership, AARNet provided the trans-Pacific layer 2 connectivity and hosting of the Corsa switch, while CSIRO hosted the ONOS control plane software of the peering router.

[3] Apart from CSIO and AARNet, the coalition includes the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), Corsa Technology (Corsa), the Open Networking Operating System (ONOS) Project and ESnet.
