Mandatory Disclosure Laws needed to counter lax security attitudes: Symantec

[1] Security Company Symantec has cautioned against Australians’ casual attitude to security and explained it to a combination of lax attitudes and a lack of mandatory disclosure laws.

[2] Symantec senior principal systems engineer (security), Nick Savvides, said that Australians work hard, but don’t take themselves or life too seriously, an attitude that results in lapses.

[3] Symantec recently released Internet Security Threat Report (ISTR) 2014 showed that five out of six large organisations globally (organisations with over 2500 employees), have been a target of malicious attacks.
