The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) investigates TPG, iiNet merger

[1 The ACCC is investigating the merger of TPG and iiNet merger and has called for submissions on the deal that involved a $1.4 billion bid.

[2 The watchdog has outlined in its request that TPG and iiNet overlap in the supply of telecommunications services in Australia, including voice services, broadband and online subscription television services.

[3] It is is investigating how the merger will affect competition for the supply of telecommunications services in Australia, especially the areas of overlap between the merger parties and competitive constraints.
