[1] The Government’s estimate of the cost of its data retention legislation is now clearly known through answers from Attorney-General George Brandis in the Senate.
[2] The capex will cost $250 million while the opex will cost $160 million a year.
[3] Brandis indicated that the determination of the capital costs will be stipulated by, among other things, the PwC report estimating the cost to be between $188 and $319 million.
