Australia climbs up the internet food chain

[1] According to the latest global figures released by Akamai, Australia has climbed two positions in the world internet speed rankings, moving from 44th to 42nd position.

[2] The Akamai State of Internet report showed that the Australia’s average connection speed stands at 7.4Mbps in Q4 2014, a 6.1 per cent increase quarter-on-quarter and 27 per cent year-on-year change.

[3] Despite improving on average connection speeds, the situational performance was poor with average page load time for broadband in Australia recorded being 5406 (ms).
