Government signals support for plan to boost economy with science and innovation

[1] Karen Andrews, the new Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry & Science, has pushed for the advancement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in schools.

[2] Ms. Andrews confirmed that the Australian government would be giving utmost consideration on the recommendations stated in Professor Ian Chubb’s 2014 landmark report, STEM: Australia’s Future.

[3] PwC economist Jeremy Thorpe believes innovation helps boost productivity, and in order for this to happen, engineers, scientists and technologists are highly needed in Australia.
