Watchdog concerns over ASIO data retention

[1] New concerns have been raised by Australian intelligence watchdog over electronic data being held by ASIO that needs to be destroyed.

[2] The main concern as described by the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security is about the breakdown in the balance between privacy and security right reading the data held.

[3] The intelligence chief Dr Vivienne Thom asked that the matter be thoroughly investigated as part of the ASIO guidelines review.
