Heatwave knocks iiNet’s internet

[1] The hot weather in Perth has been blamed for yesterday’s internet outage that put thousands of iiNet customers across Australia offline.

[2] The high temperatures of about 45 degrees knocked off internet for about six and a half hours, and also took out corporate websites and company’s call centres.

[3] iiNet Perth Data centre also experienced a partial failure of both the mains and backup air-conditioning systems, but the problem has since been dealt with and internet is back on.
