[1] The Australian government’s inclusion of ‘accessibility’ in the current Request for Tender for ICT hardware and services has been commended by the Australian Communications Consumer Action network (ACCAN).
[2] ACCAN pointed out that the move will help ensure that Australians with disability are able to easily access digital information and services provided by government agencies.
[3] Australia had lagged behind other comparable countries like US in public procurement of accessible ICT, and therefore, the inclusion was a move in the right direction.
