ITU commits to bringing 1.5 billion online by 2020

[1] The United Nations’ International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has sworn to bring 1.5 billion people online by 2020.

[2] This plan is one of the components of its 2014 Plenipotentiary Conference Connect 2020 Agenda resolution.

[3] The “Connect 2020 Agenda for Global Telecommunication/ICT Development” prioritizes on improving the telecommunications sector and making information technology available to the rest of the world.
